Code of Conduct

Wattisfield Village Hall

We want Wattisfield Village Hall to be a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable place for everyone in our community. This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected from anyone who uses or visits the hall, whether attending an event, running a group, volunteering, or just dropping by.

By using the hall, you agree to respect these principles.

Respect for People

  • Treat everyone with courtesy, kindness and respect, regardless of age, gender, background, or ability.
  • Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.
  • Children and vulnerable adults must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times unless attending an organised, supervised activity.

Respect for the Hall and Facilities

  • Keep the building and grounds clean, tidy and in good condition.
  • Report any damage or safety concerns to the hall committee as soon as possible.
  • Only use equipment or spaces you have permission to use.
  • Leave the hall as you found it: clean, secure, and ready for the next user.

Safety and Conduct

  • Follow all health and safety instructions displayed in the hall or given by organisers.
  • Do not engage in disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate behaviour.
  • Drug use, smoking and vaping are not permitted.
  • Alcohol may only be consumed if agreed with the hall in advance or served via our licensed Hot Frog Bar.

Volunteers and Group Leaders

  • Volunteers and organisers must act responsibly and be role models for others.
  • Those working with children or vulnerable adults must follow safeguarding guidance and, if required, complete a DBS check.
  • Any concerns or incidents must be reported to the hall committee or Safeguarding Lead immediately.

Visitors and Guests

We welcome all visitors and expect them to respect the space and others using it. Disruptive or disrespectful behaviour may result in being asked to leave and, in some cases, may lead to future access being restricted.

Reporting Concerns

If you witness inappropriate behaviour, damage, or anything that makes you feel unsafe, please report it to a member of staff, volunteer, or committee as soon as possible. You can also email us at: [Insert Contact Email].
